"The 2021 Merlot is bold and racy right out of the gate. A rush of ripe dark red/purplish fruit, petal, mocha lavender, sweet spice and cedar makes a strong first impression. Mountain tannins back it all up, give the Merlot plenty of distinctiveness and overall character." -Antonio Galloni

"The 2021 Merlot sports a youthful inky magenta color and comes from clay-heavy soils. Boasting aromas of dark chocolate, black plum, and a bit of youthful reduction lift, with the benefit of some air, it reveals peppery spice and preserved flowers. It’s firmly structured and grippy, with full-bodied richness and a mountainous feel, and it retains a bright spine of acidity to keep things fresh. It will benefit from another year or more in bottle, but it’s likely to stay firmly built. Drink 2026-2040." - Audrey Frick
