This 2010 is a stunner with an intoxicating aromatic perfume of rose petals, eucalyptus, and anise. The mouthfeel is silky and opulent with a complex palate of black currrants and stewed cherries and an added hint of rhubarb pie. The 2010 Kristin is truly a harmonious wine and one of the best that our vineyard has produced.
Vineyard Notes
Yet another difficult growing season. Spring was erratic giving us plenty of rain after the fruit set and heat spikes followed soon after that. We were on our toes adjusting with each jab nature gave us. Yields were down 30% and the fruit that we deemed worthy enough to survive the cluster thinning and green drops were immensely round and intense. The Merlot yields were down to about 2 tons and acre and the Cabernet yields down to about 1.5 tons an acre. As a result there isn't much to go around this vintage so get them while you can.
