Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This 2009 Cabernet has gorgeous, deep purple hues with an intense nose of ripe blackberries, cassis, and underbrush. The well rounded, lush palate is multi dimensional. Plums, black cherries, brambles, and spice command the palate. It is a lengthy Cabernet that highlights the unique terroir of the Mayacamas mountains.
Vineyard Notes
Yet another difficult growing season. Spring was erratic giving us plenty of rain after the fruit set and heat spikes followed soon after that. We were on our toes adjusting with each jab nature gave us. Yields were down 30% and the fruit that we deemed worthy enough to survive the cluster thinning and green drops were immensely round and intense. The Merlot yields were down to about 2 tons and acre and the Cabernet yields down to about 1.5 tons an acre. As a result there isn't much to go around this vintage so get them while you can.
